Introducing the Bombardier Global 5500 and Global 6500 business jets
The newest Global business jets are destined to uphold the Global family standing as the most successful long-range business jet platform on the market today
Bombardier provides the ultimate in passenger comfort and designs innovative, superior products deeply programmed into their DNA. Their focus isn’t just on the end result but the journey in accomplishing each goal is just as important.
All members of the Global family share this exceptional DNA of wide-open living spaces, a stunning interior design, luxurious cabin comfort, class-leading performance and a smooth ride – features that are synonymous with the Global brand.
Bombardier’s two newest Global aircraft represent the perfect combination of performance and luxury. Every aspect of these aircraft has been designed with ease of long-distance travel and passenger comfort top of mind.
Both the Global 6500 and the Global 5500 business jets feature the most spacious cabin and the longest range in their class. The Global 6500 business jet accommodates 17 passengers and has a range of 6,600 nautical miles, about 600 nautical miles more than its predecessor, the Global 6000. With this range, it can easily fly non-stop between Singapore and London, for example.
The 16-passenger Global 5500 aircraft boasts a range of 5,700 nautical miles, outdistancing the Global 5000 aircraft by 500 nautical miles, and flies comfortably from Sao Paolo to Paris or from Moscow to Los Angeles.
Home comforts on the Global 5500 and Global 6500
Inside the cabin, absolute comfort awaits. Designers have taken full advantage of the widest-in-class cabin to maximise opportunities for passengers to move freely, stay connected and entertained and enjoy privacy at will. The layout features three distinct living spaces, as well as a separate crew suite.
The Nuage seat in the Global 5500 and Global 6500 jets is the first meaningful change for a business aircraft seat in 30 years. It’s an ergonomic masterpiece that has been engineered to move as a passenger would, so it’s perfectly suited for long-range flights. The innovative chaise is business aviation’s first and only lounge chair that converts into a flat surface for sleeping or banquet-style dining around the conference grouping table. Within the fluid lines of its exceptionally crafted architecture is a marvel of furniture engineering, meticulously designed to maximise comfort in flight.
The aircraft’s advanced cabin entertainment suite makes time fly by, allowing passengers to kick back and relax just as they would at home, with 24-inch monitors in each suite, an available vivid 4K/Ultra-HD capability and the industry’s fastest Ka-band internet connectivity. An advanced air management system delivers fresh air and turbo temperature control while an optimised cabin pressurisation feature helps minimise jetlag.
Both elegant and fully functional, the kitchen is designed to delight an onboard chef and expand the normal range of culinary possibilities, outfitted as it is with a steam oven, dual convection/microwave ovens, espresso machine, chilled storage and generous work surfaces.
Tucked away in the quietest part of the cabin, the Private Suite, complete with en suite and available shower, offers a tranquil retreat, featuring a full berthing divan, where passengers can sleep peacefully and arrive refreshed and ready for action.
Flying farther and faster
The Pearl 15 engine, the latest addition to Rolls-Royce’s exceptional business aviation engine portfolio, received Transport Canada certification recently. The engine was custom-designed with the most innovative technology – including enhanced aerodynamics, blade cooling and advanced engine health monitoring systems – to power the Global 5500 and Global 6500 aircraft. With the purpose-built engines, advanced wing design and built-in systems redundancy and robustness, the aircraft offer superior safety and a smooth ride to its passengers. The modifications have resulted in 13 percent better fuel efficiency over existing platforms and an increase in the aircraft’s top speed to Mach 0.90.
To enhance safety, the aircraft come equipped with the industry’s leading cockpit. The comprehensive avionics suite and refined aesthetics of the Bombardier Vision flight deck make flying these aircraft a singular pleasure. The Combined Vision System allows pilots to cruise into a landing assured of the clearest possible vision, even in the most challenging weather.
With their newly optimised wing, a fully reimagined cabin and new, high-performance purpose-built engines, the new Global business jets offer something to delight everyone. The Global family of aircraft is redefining long distance travel and the result is a heightened flight experience for customers that is quintessentially Global.
