With the recent launch of the next-generation Cessna Citation M2 Gen2 and Cessna Citation XLS Gen2 business jet, Textron Aviation has ushered in some of the latest innovations in aircraft design and technology. Cessna Citation M2 Gen2 features updates on the entry-level light jet; meanwhile, Cessna Citation XLS Gen 2 highlights improvements on the mid-size business jet. The said improvements, based on extensive customer feedback, are focused on increasing comfort and productivity for both passengers and pilots, and cover the entire aircraft—from cockpit to cargo area.

The aircrafts are expected to garner market interest in the APAC region, especially in SE Asia. Light jet Cessna Citation M2 Gen2 is suitable for pilot-owners who wish to transition from their turboprops into an entry-level jet that can access short runways and less equipped airfields. With a 1,550nm range,  it can fly from Singapore to Bali or even to Hainan Island nonstop. On the other hand, mid-size Citation XLS Gen2 which seats up to 12, has a 2,100nm range that allows it to cover the distance from Singapore to Taipei/Maldives nonstop.

Textron Aviation Inc., the designer and manufacturer of the Cessna Citation range of business jets, is now accepting orders for both aircrafts, with deliveries expected to commence by the end of the first quarter 2022 for Citation M2 Gen 2, and the second quarter 2022 for the Citation XLS Gen 2.

Citation M2 Gen2: Enhanced Cabin Experience

Comfort and productivity of both passengers and pilot are at the centre of thoughtful improvements on the Citation M2 platform. In the second generation M2 Gen2, comfort is articulated in an enhanced cabin experience highlighting premium interior styling, ambient accent lighting, re-mastered illuminated cupholders, and additional in-flight accessible storage.

Meanwhile, productivity has been upgraded with wireless charging capabilities and USB-A ports in every cabin seat—both envisioned to benefit travellers who work as they fly. In the cockpit, the co-pilot will find the additional three inches of legroom an advantage. On top of these, the cabin entry threshold have been have been reworked with materials that are durable and easy to maintain.

Passengers will appreciate the USB-A ports at every cabin seat and the USB-C ports in the club area.”

Citation XLS Gen2

An elevated ramp with the new lighted airstair door greets customers and pilots as they board the aircraft. At the doorway, a new entry curtain protects them from inclement weather on the ground and helps improve cabin acoustics in flight. In the cabin, natural lighting, elegant styling and exclusive materials will put them at ease.

Each of the new pedestal seat is installed with individual controls that result in heightened individual comfort together with a new styling and an optional quilting. The forward couch has an optional fold-down capability allowing passengers to access baggage in flight.

The XLS Gen2 has a state-of-the-art intuitive wireless cabin management system that includes a touchscreen moving map monitor, wireless charging, and USB charging ports at each cabin seat. A Bongiovi Immersive speaker-less sound system can be is=nstalled as an option.
