North Texas New FBO Terminal Now Active Rise Aviation, the sole service provider at NorthTexas Regional Airport (KGYI), has opened its new fixed-base operator (FBO) terminal.The 10,720sqft, two-storey building has been planned since 2017, when the location was known as Lake Taxoma Jet Center. Decorated with artwork of area landmarks by local artists, the FBO includes a passenger lobby with multiple seating areas, refreshment bar, 12-seat conference room, business centre, pilot lounge, quiet room, flight-planning area, on-site car rental, and 1,750sqft of tenant suites.The FBO also provides 850sqft of office space for the airport administration. The tests, carried out at the Embraer facility in Gavião Peixoto, São Paulo State in Brazil, represent an important advancement in the certification campaign of this capacity by the Brazilian Military Certification Authority (IFI),After Certification, the firefighting capability will be available to the aircraft’s operators. The MAFFS II is a firefighting system capable of deploying up to 3,000 gallons of water (approx. 11,300 litres), both with and without firre retardant, according to the standard ground cover level criteria and in various types of terrain. Designed to interface with the aircraft’s Cargo Handling System (CHS), the MAFFSS II is rapidly installed on the cargo compartment of the airplane using only its own trailer.The system requires only aircraft power to operate.
