40 W Progress in Istanbul Within the Global Air Charters (GAC) area of the Atatürk International Airport inTurkey is AMACAerospace’s Istanbul facility.This is well-placed to handle the incoming and outgoing movements ofVIPs as the private passenger terminal is located nearby.The said terminal provides full VIP services for any requirements ofVIPs visiting Istanbul. Opened in 2012,AMACAerospace’s hangar facility has become an authorised Dassault Service Centre as well as an authorised Pilatus Sales and Service Centre.A hangar space of 1,500sqm allows AMACAerospaceTurkey to position three Dassault Falcons or four Pilatus airplanes. The well-equipped hangar facility comes with ample office space, crew lounge, multiple storage areas for tools and materials, and a team of highly skilled licensed mechanics and engineers. AMACAerospace Istanbul Turkey has recently completed its sixth ‘C’ check on a Falcon 2000 series aircraft. Besides the ‘C’ check,AMAC also performed the full refurbishment of the cockpit and cabin, completed the paint renewals and several avionic upgrades such as Pro Line 21,ADS-B Out, Easy II conversions, and cabin/connectivity improvement solutions. AMACAerospace Istanbul has accumulated a hands-on experience of over 100,000 hours following the successful completion of2,500 maintenance projects on Falcon aircraft since it was assigned as an Authorized Service Center by Dassault Aviation. “We are proud to have completed our sixth ‘C’ check,” according to Fikret Yazicioglu, General Manager,AMAC Aerospace Istanbul. “Our dedicated professional engineers and licensed mechanics were able to complete the workload and overcome several unexpected structural findings. Avionics Upgrade The Spring of 2022 saw the completion of one of the most complex avionic modification upgrades on a Falcon 2000 series by the AMACAerospace team in Istanbul.This called for the installation of avionics solution Pro Line 21, which uses new capabilities in display, sensor and flight management technology.The installation is aimed at helping operators meet constantly changing operational, regulatory and performance requirements. This customised cockpit package ensures that ‘out of production’ models still can benefit from next generation air traffic management technologies that enhance situational awareness and optimise aircraft operational capability.
