43 S T R O N G F I N I S H , R E M A R K A B L E S T A R T I n the final months of 2022 until the early part of 2023,AMACAerospace has been consistently proving its expertise in aircraft on ground (AOG) service. Within this period, it completed a range of AOG supports on different types of aircrafts at the company’s facility in Basel, Switzerland. In several cases,AMAC re-delivered the aircrafts ahead of schedule, much to the satisfaction of the customers. “We are proud to have such a good reputation in terms of our AOG support,” says Alexis Ott, Director Maintenance Sales & Key Account Management. “With our flat hierarchy, we can act immediately to take over our customer’s aircraft and see them back in operation within a short ground time.” The efficient and fast completion of work is a result of having teams specialised in specific airplane types. Case in point, the company completed an AOG input on a Boeing B777 within a reduced ground time, allowing the release of the head of state aircraft to the customer after a successful acceptance flight. “We pride ourselves to be very strong with AOG requests,” Mr Ott reiterates. “Owing to a special shift system we are able to perform the work within a reduced ground- time and get the aircraft safely back in the air.” In late autumn, the in-house Gulfstream team successfully accomplished due maintenance tasks on a privately owned Gulfstream G550.The task included the repair of the nose cone and various cabin interior rectifications.The Gulfstream G550 was released to the customer on schedule. In the same period,AMAC released two ACJ320neo to their customers.The Airbus team is familiar with the first aircraft, as the cabin had been outfitted by AMAC.The technicians completed a scheduled 24-month check on time on the Head of State aircraft. A second A320 neo, as well a Head of State aircraft, underwent in parallel a 12-year check and was redelivered according to plan. There are several other instances of fast turnaround re-delivery by AMAC. AMAC’s wide-body hangars 2, 3 and 4 in Basel, Switzerland
