60 S Forakis’ penchant for rule-breaking and high-tech designs reflects his view of the yacht’s interior and exterior design. The exterior begins with a low, linear hull exhibiting a plumb bow and silver metallic finish. This feature blurs the layer between the yacht and the sea itself, as though the vessel is at one with the water. Like a sustainable gliding plane through the sea, the Pegasus will have retractable, reflective multi-tiered ‘solar wings’ as floating mirrors reflecting the sky and the boat’s watery surroundings. These solar mirror panels, and the optical illusion they produce, will make the Pegasus virtually invisible to a casual onlooker. The idea for the futuristic yacht was conceived on a beach in Koufonissi Island, Greece, says Forakis. “I was inspired to create a yacht as close to the sea and nature as possible, made of clouds floating above the waterline,” Forakis says, “I wanted to honour nature by blending into it, becoming virtually invisible.” Another feature aboard the Pegasus will be its multi-level monument to nature, which Forakis calls the ‘Tree of Life’ that ‘grows’ through all four decks. Included in the interior design is a wellness Zen garden and a reflective pool, which will surround the tree framed by a sculpted spiral staircase that winds around the tree structure. The interior spaces of Pegasus will showcase the juxtaposition between minimalist design and living nature—with living greenery and rich appointments integrated throughout. The feeling created
